How much does it cost to be Apple fan in Turkey[December 2020]?
Yesterday, I have watched a video that discussing about being a super Apple fan and how much does it cost. At the end of the video, these guys gave an average price of being Apple fan. So, in my article, I have calculated how much it costs you to be an Apple fan in the cheap- average and luxury segment.
Before we start
I have set this criterion only by my product type. Instead of 2 cases and 10 watch straps, I have created only one type from each product range like 1 Apple watch and 1 watch strap. Also, I am going to use only Apple brand in my decisions. In this point, we will eliminate too many accessories by other brands that can be find in Apple’s website and of course Beats. For sure, I would not give the products that not included in Turkey market. However, I will use every Apple product-service.
So, let’s start!
Luxury Apple Fan
In my case, luxury Apple fan is going to have every type of Apple product. At the same time, this person’s going to deal with higher prices, maybe he/she is not going to use these products regularly. However, who pays the piper calls the tune. So, let’s skip to the products.

Now I’ll write a part that will attract more attention. In this part, I will make an average price based on my decisions. Actually, in this point, it is not so essential your job/to-dos. We are going to choose ideal products to use.

The total cost is 41.028.98₺. That means, if we compare to luxury fan, we are on a profit of 682.873.99₺. The main difference is our computer decision, not choosing unnecessary hardware and accessories. With MacBook charger, you can easily charge all of your devices. I have just added a type-C cable for my watch. I suggest you to by this cable for more efficient workplace.
Let’s talk about the cheaper version.
Apple Fan with Cheaper Options
First of all, I do not mean to judge or insult somebody. I prepared this option as introduction to Apple. Also, I am not going to use Apple Student special prices here because it would be cheating. Finally, I will prefer a laptop over Mac mini which is so hard to carry or an option that needs a screen.

In this case, as you see, we have chosen less product than ever. My opinion after many years of use, a basic user with iPhone and computer do not need an iPad. However, if you develop applications for iPad and want to have a much bigger screen; You can choose to buy an iPad 8.
My total cost is 26.493,48₺ which means we pay 14.535,50₺ less than our optimum case.
Let’s jump to the question to be asked the most
Why do we buy 3 products?
Because our main topic is creating an ecosystem. Using Handoff and iCloud to continue a file you have opened on your iPhone on your Mac will be more comfortable than sending this file to yourself. There is no like technology that can follow you instantly like Apple Watch, the data of the phone itself will be insufficient. In addition, you can spend less time with your phone, as the notifications you will see from the watch will improve the reflex of not checking the notifications regularly. Accessories are literally expensive but it’s all about the brand. Having a wireless charging adapter gives you the comfort of leaving 2 devices (phone or airPods) on top of it. For me, I didn’t put AirPods on it. I think it’s all worth the difference, you can trust my word.
Personal Opinion
Apple products sometimes can be confusing and fatiguing. Also, everybody’s decision is going to different because our needs are different. Generally, I have some advices for you.
- If you have so many contents in your phone (as application) you should choose 128 GB memory for future use.
- If you have so many photos & videos and you also get the backups regularly, I suggest you buy 200 GB iCloud storage.
- If you are going to use your MacBook for programming, I suggest you have one with 16 GB RAM. So, you can use for much longer time and deal with small/average projects. If you are going to use MacBook for the video stuff, you should consider buying a 16” MacBook Pro ((512GB SSD, 32GB RAM and over).
For me, iPhone 11 and 12 are investment phones for the future. Camera, performance and stable are so good. For 4–5 years, it’s going to remain like that. Use one socket rather than 3–4 sockets. The cable that comes with the MacBook can charge any device, and fast. You can also charge several devices at the same time by connecting your computer to the wall socket and inserting a cable into the other socket, or by finding a type-c generator. It could be a 4-Port MacBook Pro, but I’d suggest you wait for the M2 (presumably) version next year rather than an Intel processor.
